Motif 8 in the Basketmaker III Period
Motif 8 captures single and parallel lines which exhibit angles or curves, but lack appendages and/or fill. It is probably the simplest motif identified on this project. This motif can divide the interior of a bowl either horizontally, as a band below the rim, or vertically, often in conjunction with a center circle. Less commonly, it can form isolated panels.
