PROJECT SITES IN FOUR CORNERS REGION
The project sites are located in 10 counties in the Four Corner Region, and one county (Sandoval) in central New Mexico, which is 230 miles east of the Four Corners. In Utah, Colorado (excluding Mesa Verde National Park) and Chaco Canyon (Chaco Culture National Historical Park), the site numbering system codes for state and county and assigns a unique number to each site. (Mesa Verde uses a similar system but substitutes MV for MT.) In Arizona and most of New Mexico, the site numbering system reflects the institution that first recorded the site (LA or NA) or the map on which the site is located (AZ:E:8), and assigns a unique number to each site.
